About

Hi! Thank you for visiting my website.

Obviously, my name is Marcy Paulson. If you want to get technical, my whole name is Marcia Ann Rachel Buchholz Paulson–a mouthful, but just call me Marcy or Marc. I’m the office manager for my husband’s business, Northern Crops Marketing & Investments, Ltd. (www.ncmifutures.com) in Langdon, ND.

The oldest of five children, I’ve lived in various towns across North Dakota and have ingrained within me, a fierce loyalty to my state. I was born in Linton, though my parents lived in Strasburg. We later moved to Rolette, Wolford (where my dad was the school superintendent), Pingree (1st grade), a farm near Courtenay (Mom returned to teaching here; I attended grades 2-9), and Hazelton (grades 10-12). Two weeks after my high school graduation, my family moved to Anamoose where my parents still live.

After attending college in Valley City, I began my chosen career as a secondary teacher with majors in math and English and concentrations in chemistry and computer science. I’ve taught at (in order): New York Mills, MN; Border Central in Calvin, Bismarck Century, and West Fargo–the latter all in North Dakota. I’ve also substituted at Fargo South and Langdon, ND.

I met my husband and the love of my life in 1985 in Hannah. Brad and I were married on 7/11 in 1987. We have two great kids: Marisa who has her MSJ from Northwestern and her BS from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and who is an assistant editor for the American College of Healthcare Executives in Chicago, IL; and Rob who is a college senior at Minnesota State University Moorhead studying music industry, sound and film. He’ll be attending the University of Lincoln near London, England, this coming spring.

I’m an avid reader and a lazy writer. I enjoy traveling, playing poker, listening to audio books and music, watching hockey, and living life! I used to love fishing which is something I haven’t done in years. I may now be able to indulge in this pastime, too. We are building a home and moving to Grand Forks. This will be the last year we’ll be farming near Milton, and Brad will have time to go fishing with me. He’s even been talking about getting a boat for the first time! We’ll still have our business, but one job instead of two will be a huge change. Don’t just visit me on here, but come see us in Grand Forks!
